SFMF PRO | Google Ads EXPERT Mode Account Solved.

Written by: Michael Bashi.

Let me begin by saying the quiet part out loud. Probably the only part of the entire SFMFPRO program that I CANNOT; NOT DO NOT; but CANNOT have dialled in to the T is the beginning steps of Google Ads. Which is the new Google Ads account creation process.

This is because of many factors including:

1. I already have a Google ads account from years ago; and creating multiple dummy accounts just to show you how to create one on a video training is a bad idea and not recommended for anyone to do with Google.

2. If I constantly create new Google Ad accounts for the sake of recording training videos but never use them; they will end up getting cancelled or suspended. Which will then mean I have to constantly create a new Google Ads account; every time Google makes an update, and then I have to update the SFMFPRO program. And as a result, I will probably end up getting flagged on Google for suspicious activities lol.

HINT: Google makes lots and lots of updates especially around the account creation process.

3. I can't see what you can see. Because I had my account for so long; some of the things; including features I see in my own Google Ads account will be different from what you see especially if you're just signing up for a brand new account.

This is short list amongst many other reasons I can mention.

As much as I would love to be able to create a Google Ads account with you on video to show you how to do it; unfortunately for all the reasons above and many more; I just physically cannot do it step by step all the way through.

But one thing I do know... I do know how to tell you what type of account to create and what type of account to avoid. YES there are different Google Ads account types you can create.

As of the writing of this Article (Dec 05/2024) there are:

1. Smart Mode account: In a nutshell, Smart Mode is the simplified version of the Google Ads platform. Smart Mode is beginner-friendly, offering simplified features and automated ad creation. AKA more AI driven letting a machine make the decisions for you and you have less control. AKA; spend more for less to no results. Not good.

Which means lots of the tricks; and settings I can show you on how to make your campaign amazing; is not available in the smart mode account.

Google's goal is of course to increase their revenue. The more you spend on ads, the more they make. Therefore the less complicated they make a campaign creation process with less features to play with; the more likely you will setup ad campaigns with them and start spending money.

2. Expert Mode account: Caters to experienced marketers, providing full control over campaigns with advanced features and customization options. Meaning all the things I can show you that actually produce results; is available in the expert mode account.

Here is the where the issue comes into play.

In the training video inside SFMFPRO on Day 12 Lesson 1, which is the Google Ads account creation training.

On this training video I walk you through creating a Google Ads account. I also show you how to create an account in Expert Mode.

In the training video, on my end I can only show you how to create an account by logging into my existing Google Ads account and attempting to create a second account; but I do not go all the way with it for the reasons I explained above. But no one had an an issue following my lead to create their account.

On the training video; I show you the area where to tick the option to create your account in "Expert Mode" which is hidden in small text as shown on the training video.

So Google is slowly getting rid of giving new advertisers the option to sign up or create an account with the "Expert Mode" option. Some people see the option; others do not and there is no way for me to control that.

The Good news

You can always switch back and forth between Smart and Expert mode.

So if you ever face this issue when creating your Google Ads account; here is what you can do:

1. Create your Google Ads account in Smart Mode and go through the process.

2. Sometimes; Google makes you create a campaign in order to create your account. However if you constantly keep looking as go through their step by step process of creating your account; you will at some point see links or buttons hidden in small text or at the bottom of a page that says things like "Skip", "Create Campaign Later" and things of sorts. Where ever or whenever you see those options; always choose them so that you can skip creating a campaign, and just create your account without creating a campaign for now.

3. Once your Google ads account is created in Smart Mode, it is now time to switch it over to "Expert Mode". Here is how to do that:

Step One: Make sure you're signed into to your Google Ads account.

Step Two: Click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the page.

Step Three: Select Switch to Expert Mode.

Step Four: Click Yes to confirm.

Once you've switched to Expert Mode, you'll have access to all of the features and tools in Google Ads. You'll also be able to create all campaign types, including Search, Display, Video, App, and Shopping. Note: Once you've switched to Expert Mode, you can't revert back to Smart Mode.

The steps above may be a bit different for you or the wording in the steps may change from time to time. As I said, Google is constantly changing things around.

But this is how to create a Google Ads account in "Expert Mode" following my training if Google does not give you the option to create your Ads Account in Expert Mode right away during the Ads account creation and setup process.

Hope this helps :)
